Director of Elementary Education and Assistant Teaching Professor
My job reponsibilities:
My job responsibilities range from:
- teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in online and face-to-face formats
- advising undergraduate students pursuing their bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
- collaborating with faculty and staff to provide an exceptional experience in and beyond the classroom for Mizzou education students
- serving the campus and community in accordance to Mizzou’s core values: Respect, Responsibility, Discovery and Excellence
How I got my start at MU:
My time at Mizzou began as an undergraduate student in 1999 and extended through the end of my doctoral program in 2008. After working as an administrator for a private K-12 collegiate preparatory academy, I was fortunate to learn of a faculty position in the Department of Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum at the College of Education.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but the day I received my appointment letter from my department chair would forever change my life.
Why I love working at MU:
From the moment I stepped onto campus to begin my career at Mizzou, I became a part of something much bigger than myself. I became a part of a family of scholars, teachers, researchers, leaders and public servants. I became a part of a community that values learning and recognizes that there is power in knowledge.
As a faculty member at Mizzou, I have benefitted from campus and system-sponsored faculty and leadership development programs. I have had the opportunity to offer my time and talents to initiatives and committees I care deeply about.
Above all, the relationships I have formed with my students, colleagues, campus leaders and alumni have solidified my love and loyalty for Mizzou.
