What is your position?

Credentialing Coordinator

What are your current job responsibilities?

My current job responsibilities are credentialing all new providers that join the Department of Medicine and coordinating all reappointments for current providers in the department. I work very closely with the providers, division administrators and my contacts in the Medical Staff Office to ensure that all of the providers are compliant in areas such as licensing, credentialing, staff health, etc. I also assist the physicians with their outside affiliations with other facilities, including Rusk, VA, Capital Region and Bothwell.

How did you begin your association with MU?

I first joined the University in July 2006 in the Orthopedic Surgery Department. There, I worked as an Office Support Staff III in Pediatric Orthopedics. In April 2008, I accepted a position as the Fellowship Coordinator in the Department of Medicine supporting three divisions: Infectious Disease, Immunology & Rheumatology and Nephrology.  I held that position until May 2011, when I was promoted to the HR/Fiscal Office as the Credentialing Coordinator.

What do you enjoy about working at MU?

Any time that I get asked where I work, I proudly state that I work for the University of Missouri. I have always felt fortunate to have the benefits that the University offers. My coworkers are like family to me, which is a reason why I encouraged my daughter to pursue work at the University. She has worked here for two years. Not everyone can say they enjoy getting up each day to head to their workplace. I can.
