Other leave and time off

Military leave

Any employee who is or becomes a member of the U.S. Armed Forces will be granted a leave of absence for military service. Please see the veterans section of this site for additional information pertaining to military personnel.

Development leave

Development leave, which applies only to administrative, service and support employees, may be granted when the requirements of the department permit and when such leave is demonstrated to be in the best interests of the university. 

Leaves of absence

Leaves of absence are unpaid and may be granted after appropriate accumulated leave has been exhausted.

Legal proceedings

Employees involved in legal proceedings may receive time off to attend the proceedings depending on the nature of employee involvement. An employee called for jury service shall be excused from work for the reasonable time required. 

Voting

All employees may receive time off with pay for voting in local, state and national elections if the time off is requested prior to election day. 

Funeral leave

Employees are granted funeral leave for the loss of an immediate family member.
