Overtime and Compensatory Time

Overtime work is paid at the rate specified by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) following provisions applicable to the university. This policy applies to non-exempt employees regardless of title. 

All non-exempt employees should obtain authorization from a supervisor before working over 40 hours. Because the university is a public employer, FLSA allows appropriate compensatory time to be substituted for overtime pay.
