Research Associate (090229)
Position: Applications for a research associate position are invited by the Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA), Division of Applied Social Sciences, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, University of Missouri-Columbia. The successful candidate will collaborate in conducting public policy analysis and professional development at OSEDA.
Responsibilities Responsibilities will include: Conducting public policy research as a member of a project team, performing survey research and analysis; interpreting and analyzing data using multi-variate statistical tools such as multiple regression; using statistical packages such as SPSS and SAS; writing research and analysis reports and presenting findings; helping design, schedule and manage data collection protocols, including testing and follow-up; preparing and merging data from multiple sources for analysis; preparing tables, charts, graphs and maps for presentations; conducting Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals; working in collaborative effort toward a common goal and safeguarding confidential research records where appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications: The position requires a Masters degree in Education or Social Sciences, 3-5 years experience with public policy research activities, including quantitative survey analysis; expertise using statistical packages such as SPSS and SAS, experience using multi-variate statistical tools such as multiple regression, and exceptional writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications: An individual with an analytical frame of reference, and a demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative research and interact with policy makers, experience working with joining and managing data sets of different origins, and conducting IRB approvals is strongly preferred.

Salary/Compensation: $45,000 - $60,000 range at 100% FTE
